The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is set to release the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2025 on May 27, 2025. This annual recruitment drive aims to fill various posts such as Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator (DEO) across different government ministries and departments. Important Dates and Application Process
The SSC CHSL application window will open on May 27, 2025, and close on June 25, 2025. Candidates must submit their applications online through the official SSC website within this period. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the SSC CHSL 2025 examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries are also eligible.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.

Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 and 27 years of age as of January 1, 2025. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Application Fee
The application fee for general and OBC candidates is ₹100. However, women candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee.
Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The SSC CHSL examination comprises two tiers:

Tier I: A Computer-Based Examination (CBE) consisting of objective-type multiple-choice questions covering General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Each section carries equal weightage, and there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.

Tier II: A descriptive paper conducted in pen-and-paper mode, requiring candidates to write an essay and a letter/application. This tier assesses the candidate’s writing skills in English or Hindi.
Candidates who qualify in both tiers will be shortlisted for skill tests relevant to the posts they have applied for, such as typing tests for LDC/JSA positions and data entry speed tests for DEO positions.

Result Declaration and Further Process
The results for each tier will be announced on the official SSC website. Candidates who qualify in Tier I will be eligible to appear for Tier II. Subsequently, those who clear Tier II will be called for skill tests or typing tests, depending on the post applied for. The final merit list will be prepared based on the cumulative performance in Tier I and Tier II examinations.
