OBJECTIVES OF WEWP

  1. Inviting applications from aspiring Women Entrepreneurs with innovative Ideas and Projects in Waste Management.
  2. To motivate women students to take up entrepreneurships in waste management.
  3. To create business skills and waste management awareness among women students.
  4. To provide platform for women students to pitch start-up ideas in waste management.
  5. To establish linkages with Industry stakeholders and investors.

  3. Support in incubation of the startup
  4. Business Development Workshops for Skill Enhancement.

THEMES

  1. Material Recycling (Metal, E-waste, Hazardous waste, plastics, Biomedical waste, agriculture waste, other industrial wastes)
  2. Solid (municipal) waste systems for cities, towns and/or villages
  3. Digital support system for waste management
  4. Revival of Indian knowledge systems in waste management with focus of agricultural waste
  5. Innovations in Wastewater or sewage management

ELIGIBILITY

All women students of AICTE approved institutions are eligible to participate.

The competition may also be extended to women students from IIT/NIT/Institution of national importance/ UGC approved Institutions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Participation/Registration in WEWP 2023 is totally free of charge.
The WEWP 2023 will be hosted in two regions: South (Tamil Nadu) and North (Delhi NCR).
All women students of AICTE approved institutions are eligible to participate.The competition may also be extended to women students from IIT/NIT/Institution of national importance/ UGC approved Institutions.
All questions in the Registration Form are mandatory and must be answered. The selection of participants will be conducted by the WEWP committee based on the responses provided. Please note that leaving any of the required questions unanswered will lead to disqualification.
Yes faculty members can participate, but ONLY as mentors. However, please note that the host institute will not cover travel or accommodation expenses for faculty participants.
For participants coming from outside the host state (Delhi and Tamil Nadu), their travel expenses will be managed as follows: Their college will cover the cost of travel from their home state to the host state. Once they arrive at the host state, the host college will take care of their travel expenses within the state.
Accommodation will be provided to all outstation students. The host institutes will sponsor 2 nights of stay, with an additional night in special cases.

As you are not a student currently, you cannot apply as a participant. But you can be a mentor to students of your college.
If the students collaborate with entrepreneurs, they will get additional points, but the team lead and the group should be students. So request you to reach out to your college and see if you can be a mentor to a students group, if they have applied.
Faculty members cannot be a team leader but they can be mentors to the team
